The Cornus kousa is native to Japan, China and Korea and here at Reuthe's we have our very own orchard, for you to see on request. Flowering in late spring with a delicate white flower and in the autumn it produces a delicious fig like fruit which can be turned into a relish. A perfect addition for those who enjoy home grown produce.
Fertile, neutral to acid
Liquidamber are deciduous trees which will provide vibrancy and colour throughout the autumn months. The green leaves transform to orange, purple then crimson and will animate any landscape, creating a flow of colour.
Its distinctive conical outline will add texture and vigour to your garden, making even the dullest day sparkle.
Autumn is the best time to plant as the soil is still warm from the summer months. This allows the plant time to bed in before the the winter. The unsettled weather means less water so lower maintenance.
