Hilltop Explorers with Wildberry Wood Outdoor Learning
A woodland play group for children under 5.
SEPTEMBER DATES - 11th, 18th, 25th
OCTOBER DATES - 2nd, 9th and 16th
These play groups will take place on the above dates from 10:00AM to 11:30AM. The group is £8.00 per child. Please visit Basecamp Cafe upon arrival and our friendly staff will direct you to the group meeting point.
After the success of our Forest School groups, we were keen to create an outdoor play group that even our youngest intrepid explorers to could take part in, so we’re thrilled to announce that we’ve partnered with Katie of Wildberry Wood to put on a forest-friendly play group for toddlers and preschool-aged children, and their carers, to take place on select dates this spring and summer.
During each 90-minute Hilltop Explorers playgroup, under-5s will sing songs, read stories, take part in nature-based craft and learning, and, of course, have plenty of free play on the Reuthe’s grounds. We believe that adventure doesn’t wait for perfect weather, so these sessions will take place come rain or shine. Please see details below for all the particulars before booking.
If one of our Hilltop Explorers has a younger sibling who isn’t quite walking but would like to take part in our woodland adventures, carers can absolutely bring them along but a carrier or sling is advised.
Hilltop Explorer sessions will take place in all weather conditions, barring thunderstorms and high winds, so please be sure your child – and their carer– are dressed appropriately for rain or shine. As any seasoned explorer knows, it’s always wise to layer up, and we recommend wearing long sleeves and trousers in all conditions to keep warm under the forest canopy and to avoid scratches and insect bites. Waterproof jackets and boots in all conditions are essential, and waterproof trousers or puddle suits can be useful even if it’s not wet, as children will be running, sitting and playing on the ground. The site is accessed via a short, but steep, climb uphill, so please ensure children and adults wear sensible shoes. The paths are not suitable for buggies, so please bring carriers or slings for smaller children.

A Day of Adventure and Learning in the Rhododendron Forest
A woodland day group for children aged 5 to 10
UPCOMING DATES: 9:30AM - 2:30PM on Tuesday 22 October
The forest is filled with adventure, and our Forest School pupils know this better than anyone. During a day of Forest School, a Forest School Leader will guide the group of 10 students through our wild rhododendron forest and teach them woodland essentials like campfire building, whittling, the ancient art of leaf crown weaving, and wand making (to name but a few).
School begins at 9.30AM at Basecamp Cafe and will finish at 2.30PM. A delicious and nutritious lunch will be provided for each child.
Please ensure that your Forest School scholar arrives wearing suitable shoes or boots, is dressed in warm layers so they stay comfortable in and out of the forest, and is wearing weatherproof clothing. We also ask that each child comes with a reusable water bottle to carry with them on their day of adventure.
This group is recommended for children aged 5 to 10, but 4 year-olds who are already attending school are also welcome.

Nature may be a wonderful refuge for the mind, body, and soul, but Personal Trainer Carin Soderberg also believes that it’s the perfect playground to get the body moving and the heart pumping. Her bi-weekly 60 minute Nature’s Elements Bootcamps will have you box jumping on tree stumps, lunging with lumber, and planking on a bed of pine needles (check out her instagram to see for yourself!).
Each class includes a dynamic warm-up flow, a woodland workout that will make you tap into your inner warrior, and a cool down and stretch.
These classes are open to anybody looking to build strength alongside their relationship with nature, and are perfect for you if you’re training for an endurance event, wanting to build a stronger and leaner body, or looking to spend more time outdoors. All classes are mixed gender, and all abilities and sizes are welcome.
More About Carin Soderberg
Personal Trainer Level 3, England Boxing Coach Level 1, NLP Practitioner
Since moving to Sevenoaks 8 years ago, Carin has been on a transformational journey. From a place of chronic illness, she discovered that training helped to feel great and be strong whilst being able to find the space to heal. Carin grew up in Sweden, spending her childhood outdoors, and this is still her place of excitement whether it’s foraging, dog walking or off-road running! She loves being outside her comfort zone and enjoys OCRs, the Stockholm Marathon, and, more recently, boxing. Leaving her London career behind, she is now ready to transform people to feel great inside out, be strong and own their destination. Are you ready to be pushed?
All aboard the Alpaca Craft Bus!
Amazing Alpaca Painting: 21 September, 26 October, 23 November 10.30AM-12.00PM, ages 6+
The children will be taken through the painting step by step so they will all walk away with a masterpiece they are proud of! Plus once they have finished, they will get a chance to meet the two Reuthe's alpacas in real life!
Sunday 6th October, 10:00AM - 1:00PM
We like to say that people come to Reuthe’s to enjoy our beautiful plants, but they stay for our coffee. That’s because our coffee beans, which are roasted right here in Sevenoaks by Corban Coffee, create one mighty fine cup of coffee.
Over the past year, our team at Basecamp Cafe has enjoyed working with Denver and his team at Corban Coffee and learning about their artisanal beans and superior brewing methods almost as much as we’ve enjoyed drinking the coffee they produce, so we wanted to partner with them and share that knowledge (and deliciousness!) with some of you, too.
Our Corban Coffee Tasting Workshop will be run by Denver and will cover everything you’ve ever wanted to know about coffee, from the bean’s origin, to how different brewing methods will change the way it tastes in the cup. We’ll gather around the cupping table to taste a range of coffees, and even try a few from around the world. You’ll walk away with loads of tips for making the best brew at home, the ability to discuss the nuances between an Aeropress or drip filter coffee, and a slight caffeine buzz. Don’t say you weren’t warned!
Tickets for this event are £40 per person or £35 per person if you book with a friend. Use discount code COFFEEMATES at checkout for your reduced coffee-mate rate.
